Please could someone suggest how to translate "Monsieur est a l'hauteur de sa tache".  Thank you so much.

The most obvious translation is "Sir is  up to his  task"

i think that mean " this sir is able to do this task perfectly".

Well "this sir" would be "ce monsieur" in French. (It would be much better to say "this gentleman" rather than "this sir")

Also "this task" would be "cette tache"   and "sa tache" means "his(or her) task ".

How about really making it colloquial by translating it as "this gentleman is at the top of his game"?

"Ce monsieur est le meilleur dans son jeu"
