I am currently translating one of Balzak's greatest works, The Unknown Masterpiece, to Persian. Since I am a beginner in French, I am using an English translation.  What I need to know, to be as accurate as possible, is the pronunciation of the artist's name Porbus. I have been transcribing it literally, but I wonder if, for instance, the final /s/ is or is not pronounced, etc. I would appreciate any input in this regard—maybe even transcribed, using the IPA system.

Thanks,

I think the final /s/ is pronounced. I did it when I studied this book at school.

I think you've made a spelling mistake in Balzac.

Thank you, Erwan. You are absolutely right about "Balzac."  It was an error as a result of haste' but thanks, quite the same. You have spent some time to reply and that is highly appreciated.
