Could someone please translate (esp after "ne pas brille...")?

"Pour les partisans de Martine Aubry, dont la campagne ne brille pas dans les sondages, la vraie bataille commence après l'université d'été du PS et va se jouer sur le terrain."

It's from Le Monde.fr today.   What is 'PS'?

Thanks to Neil Coffey for having started this superb site!

"PS" is the "Parti socialiste". The "université d'été" is basically a propaganda event that political parties organise to brainwa... sorry, "educate" members and potential members (basically what we would call a "party conference" in the UK, but in France I don't think you actually need to be a member to attend-- so literally a bit more of a "summer camp" as the name implies-- Google for more details if you're interested).

So then... "ne brille pas dans les sondages" basically means that the campaign hasn't "done too well in the polls", and they're basically saying that they will need to "fight the campaign on the ground".

So 'PS' is rather appropriate, then.  A bit of an afterthought?

Thnks Neil. Much obliged.
