Both verbs, sentir and ressentir have similar meanings. What is the difference?

Hello,
Globally speaking, sentir is more for odors and ressentir more for feelings.
Uh, no, i meant sentiment.
Don't you say "i got feelings for this person" to express passion ?
Ah OK, yes it's true that "feelings" can be "sentiments".
Maybe it's just that "sentir" is more "connected with the senses" (smell, as you say, but also taste/tcouh).
