" la tentation en..." and "personnel relève"

Hi! I'm reading http://www.lexpress.fr/informations/ces-messieurs-de-la-sagesse_628.... I find sentences are difficult; I stumble right from the first paragraph. I would like to seek your kind suggestions.

(1) On leur saura d'autant plus gré d'avoir résisté, ici, à la tentation en redonnant au cerveau ses lettres de noblesse.

I am not so sure what 'en' is modifying. I guess it must be 'On' rather than 'tentation.' Otherwise, it should be '...tentation de redonner au cerveau..." But, then, I have a question, 'tentation of what?' 

(2) Opposer le vertueux ennui de la réflexion aux pseudo-sentences d'un chaman de l'épanouissement personnel relève, par les temps qui courent, de l'héroïsme.

I guess that 'personnel' is the subject but wonder why there is no article.

Could anyone kindly give me explanations? Thank you very much :)

it could be translated as follows:

We all the more appreciate that they resisted the temptation by giving the brain its former nobility/ the first place it deserves.

 Now the temptation in question is from the preceding scathing remark : "A peine s'ils ne sont pas en train d'être à la philosophie ce que le Pr Montignac est à la science gastronomique."

They compare the philosophers to a famous French dietician and the temptation would be to be somewhat like  Montignac is to gastronomic science.

In this day and age to put forward virtuous boredom against pseudo verdicts of a shaman of self development is truly heroic.

I don't have the context in front of me but  does "en" have to go with "tentation " at all . Can "en redonnant au cerveau ses lettres de noblesse" stand alone?

Again ,in (2) I am not sure of the overall meaning but can "personnel" be an adjective?

Is  "l'épanouissement personnel"  "personal development"

Is it any clearer now?

I wold also translate "opposer" as "to counter" in this context. Not quite sure what a "sentance" is but it is definitely not a "sentence"!

Both examples are quite "dense" .

Edit :I didn't see Vedas' answer.It looks good to me,though -except maybe "prescriptions" for "sentances"  but  that is just from context and I am not really familiar with "sentances"

Well, if the second one is not a sentence, I wonder why we often come across with 'non-sentences' or ungrammatical sentences on French web pages. Last time I posed a question here, the sentence in question wasn't quite grammatical. French may have quite different nature from English.

the sentences in question were grammatically correct in the article 

I know I just translated the sentences and maybe didn't answer directly to your questions

personnel is an adjective in the first sentence and l'épanouissement personnel is attached to chaman and qualify it, it's an "expansion du nom"

The subject of the verb "relève"  is the whole sentence  Opposer le vertueux ennui de la réflexion aux pseudo-sentences d'un chaman de l'épanouissement personnel
