Well you could say "La vie enseigne ,l'amour révèle." of course but I wonder if  "La vie  montre mais l'amour dévoile."  would also work ?

Well it might sound artificial (the second option ) to a French speaker.I can't really say.If it was a set expression that wouldn't matter but I don't know if English speakers can make up French  expressions on the hoof if they haven't been used before.

I assume that this is for a tattoo? "Dévoile" might be a bit risqué.

There are other contributers  to this site who may have a better idea.

I'm sorry, but the phrase in English sounds just as artificial in itself.  Chantal reveals the way to go.

Yes, it's for a possible tattoo design. I think I'll stick with the first option. It's a little more simple and to the point. Your input was enough for me. I'm in the very beginning stages of learning French, so I just needed a little reassurance before I go putting something permanent on my body.
