I'm trying to translate and old French advertisement for bicycle tires (U.K.-tyres) using the phrase, "CHAMBRE INCREVABLE." The word increvable doesn't appear in any of the on-line dictionaries. Based on the graphic of two bicyclists, dressed in tires Michelin-Man style, being shot with arrows by American Indians, but without ill effects I assume the phrase means leak proof or puncture resistant. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Dan,

It's a bit weird that it doesn't appear in dictionaries, but you are right, it means puncture-proof.
"increvable" has a couple of different meanings.

One that you are likely to stumble upon is when talking about a person. It means that this person is inexhaustible.
Thank you Frank. I suppose I should have searched for the root word (creve, I suppose) but I'm not that good with French. Thanks again. Dan
