"Je ne sais quoi" means "something" or "whatsit".

It's a bit strange for a tatoo, but why not.

thanks! someone else told me it meant "i dont know what" but that didnt make sense either, so i wanted to double check. and i agree, it is very weird... thanks again!

Jenine -- it soooort of does mean "I don't know what" literally, but the implication is more "something or other", "who knows what", "goodness knows what" etc.
