I just want to know the way French talk about emails.

Do you just say email?

Maybe it is 'courrier électronique'.

In English it is just email.

Hi Crack,

We just say "email" or "mail".

There are "official" terms: "mél" and "courriel", but nobody is using them. Some newspapers do, in formal articles, but it sounds ridiculous.

"Courier électronique" (beware: only one "r" in French for "courier") would be understood. Actually, I'm saying it a lot, but as a kind of a joke. But you should just stick to "email" or "mail" in every other situation.

For what it's worth, I get the impression that the "-iel" words have taken off a bit more in Canada.

French people tend to just use the English terms when it comes to IT and marketing vocab. Verbs are often frenglishized, almost always as verbs of the 1st group.

Bastardized verbs like "downloader", "uploader", "mailer", "poster", "bookmarker", "twitter", "benchmarker", "rebooter", "crasher", "bloguer", "hacker", etc. are probably more common than their French counterpart.
