I've been watching TV5Monde on my cable tv for about a year.  I have never yet heard the word "aussi" being used, either by the news professionals or the average joe....they  all say "également" instead, without exception.  Why is this?

That is interesting .Maybe that is  something  peculiar to TV5Monde?

 I can't comment further  except to  notice that when I do a search for "et aussi" in the  Google News box it gives 3 times as many returns as  "également".....

I wonder if this is similiar to the loss of /too/ in English.  We now hear and read /as well/ more frequently.  I think it is a "snob" thing. /As well/ sounds more . . . up-scale?
