My brother, who makes figurines recreating historical figures and events, has asked me to translate an article describing the coats of arms of Charles d’Orléans, Charles d’Albret, and Arthur de Richement at the Battle of Agincourt.

 

My French is very rusty, and I have very little knowledge of heraldic vocabulary. I have done my best, and I hope someone can help me with the following parts which are giving me the most difficulty :

 

je débute la peinture des armoiries en or du tissu ou des broderie avec de la garance brune alizarine

I start painting the arms in gold with fabric ??or embroidery?? with a reddish brown dye

 

Le rouge est obtenu à partir de rouge de cadmium foncé

The red is achieved by beginning with a deep bluish-white red ??

 

Ecartelé. en un et quatre de France, en deux et trois de gueule C'est à dire, divisé en quatre quartiers

Quartered (France’s four in one ???) with two and three gules (red vertical lines), i.e., divided in four quarters
