Hello
choutette ??? or chouette
- "choutette" is not a french word but maybe in a special context it's a play on words. I need to see the whole text ...
- "chouette" has two common meanings :
1) it's an owl ... but in Paris, I have never seen an owl (sadly) ...
2) it's frequently used to say that something is very nice, well, great ... it's more certainly that meaning in a blog about Paris.
"Chouette", in its offhand use, means "nice, pleasant, terrific, fantastic, great", etc. It can be used as an adjective ("Ce chanteur, il est vraiment chouette !", but also, isolated, as an interjection ("- Demain, il n'y a pas classe... - Chouette !")
Though still in frequent use in these meanings, this word is a little bit old-fashioned... Young French people would now preferably say : "Cool !" (yes, French people...)
