So sorry - this might be off topic:

I was dining in a lovely Chinese - rest. in quartier latin, nearby Cluny.

First, they served me a basket of "chips", white and very crispy "things", somewhat salty.

I had to look at the other guestes, at first I thought this was part of the decorations. It tasted very good, a salt starter perfect for the big meal to come.

Anyone who would like to tell me the name of this (also in english)? Do you serve it in London?

French call these chips "Chips chinoises"... (Crispy Chips made with shrimps).
You can very easily buy some in supermarket.

In London, I don't know...
In London they're prawn crackers.
