I am trying to say in a conversational, not formal,

" I remember our first kiss".

And

"I remember the day I I first kissed her"

My attempts seem too translated, I guess because they are.  svp

Je me souviens du jour j'ai bisou .

Je me souviens du jour de notre premier bisou

Je me souviens du premier jour où je l'ai embrassée

Thanks.

As far as I know a "bisou " is normally for children (although I see that it is also used for adults ) .

You can use "un baiser"  or "une bise" also  (donner un baiser) but be very careful not to use it as a verb as "baiser quelqu'un"  is a description of the sexual act and is often said by mistake by foreigners when they merely want to say "to kiss".

Actually  there may be  a distinction  between a kiss on the cheek , which is a bit like a hand shake  and  an intimate kiss  and I am not fully versed in the difference.

Again I think you would not use "un baiser"  between members of the family as it would be too formal.

Your first  sentence is wrong:

"Je me souviens du jour j'ai bisou " would have to be something along the lines of "Je me souviens du jour je lui ai  donné un bisou "

Sorry I should have said  :

"Je me souviens du jour  je lui ai  donné un bisou "

Hello,

if you're speaking about a romance:

je me souviens du jour où je l'ai embrassée/ lui ai donné un baisé

everybody would understand that we're talking about a "French kiss" if you say "un bisou" it sounds very intimate (and would be used by the people concerned) or it could be a kiss on the cheek or might refer to a child as it was mentionned.

But as everybody is likely to be childish nowadays the distinction tends to be blurred...
