I would like to ask for your kind help.

I'm reading this passage and not sure about its meanings.

"...l'un des etudiants...qui a coiffé Ricoeur d'une poubelle est venu le voir á l'occasion d'une soutenance de thése...pour lui présenter ses excuses."

I wonder whether the students put Ricoeur into a trash bin; or covered Ricoeur with a trash bin.

I also wonder if the repentant student saw Ricoeur on his thesis defense, or dropped by to see him on the day of his thesis defense.

Thank you very much :)

I think the students put a trash bin on the head of Paul Ricoeur and the rependant student saw him on a thesis defense (in your sentence, we're not sure it was the student's thesis).

There is 2 small accent spelling mistakes in your text : it's à and thèse :)

Thank you very much for your kindness :)

And thank you very much for pointing out the mistakes. I am pretty bad at French. I can read only.

Another point. You were right it wasn't the student's thesis! I found that in another book. Thanks!!!
