S'il te plait -> Please
Perhaps if it had been S'il vous plait you'd have recognised it as please. Vous and te both mean you -- the difference indicates the relationship you have with the person you're talking to. A waiter in a restaurant would be vous -- your husband or son is definitely te.
Thank-you very much for your help......We struggled with this and thought just maybe it was please but could not figure out how?  The way you described this makes all the sense in the world!!  My son has a list of 150 french words that he needs to know the english version.....with all the words that mean the same thing but in a different text get us!!  The test is tomorrow...so thanks again!! :))))
