difference between [ infirmier & médicin ] and also the difference between [ profession & métier]

Are the meanings of infirmier and médicin the same? Does both mean doctors?

As for profession and métier, both mean profession, so what is the difference between these 2 words?

métier et profession have the same meaning. The level of language is perhaps a little bit different. profession is more elegant.

Un infirmier is a male nurse and un médecin is a doctor.

There's a certain snobbery -- in both languages -- about profession vs. métier. I would translate métier as trade, commonly used to describe activities that you learn by apprenticeship or short practical courses. Bricklaying, basket-weaving, bartending are examples. A profession is more often learned at university and is not usually associated with a manual skill (surgery being one notable exception.)

On official documents we often see profession but in speeches we use it less than métier.

an infirmier is a male nurse or female nurse  , un medecin is a doctor,  profession is a business , it is your profession, your career, metier is a trade , it is also a career but there is a difference between trade and profession, you can also be in the medical trade for exemple and be a respiratory therapist or radiologist, these are your profession, does this make sense to you
