Yes I think that is correct.

You can find masses of examples here

https://www.google.ie/search?q=de+moi-m%C3%AAme&oq=de+moi-m%C3%...*+de+moi-m%C3%AAme%22

I can't think of another obvious  way of expressing it actually.

yes, you have "par moi-même" too.

I would say :

"je ne peux pas le faire moi-même". (I can't to it myself)

If you want to insist on the fact that you have no personal mean (possibility, capability) to perform such action, you should say : "Je ne peux pas le faire par moi-même".

If you want to express that this action would not  come from your own will (your own initiative or wish), ou should say : "Je ne peux pas le faire de moi-même".

Jacques

So, de moi-même would be used if I could do it by myself but I don't want to?

Je peux pas laver la vaisselle de moi-même.  M'aide.

Would that be the same as

Je veux pas laver la vaisselle moi-même.  M'aide.

The essence of my question has to do with whether and when to use

moi-même

par moi-même

de moi-même

or some other construction.
