It can mean
-"new" if it's used as an adjective for a feminine noun
- a short story if it's used as a noun
I've forgotten to say that "des nouvelles" (always in plural) means "some news".
Considering the context of your other questions it's the meaning you're looking for.

Here is a translation of each part :
- est en vie : is alive
- divorce : divorce
et se réjouie encore de la vie : and is delighted the life again

The translation is "So...What's up with you?"
