How do you say what the exact temp. will be using the futur proche? For example, how would you say, "It will be 17 degrees in Marseille"?

My version:

Il fera 17 degrès à Marseille
don't you mean "sera" ? future third person of etre - to be? fera is future of faire.
French genearlly uses faire with various "weather" descriptions (il fera beau), including temperature.
