I go to a gym 3 times a week and train.
I always say I am going to the gym for circuit training.
Generally I train for about 90 minutes; this keeps me hale and hearty.
I keep the blood pressure at 110/70, fasting blood sugar count at 5.6 and the weight 64 kilos.
Some people say workout too. I never use the word workout.
In French I am used to saying the following:
Je me entraîne 3 fois par semaine.
I found the following in an online dictionary, however.
Je vous souhaite un joyeux Noël

Well, if you go to the gym to just stay healthy, it's better to use the literal translation : I go to gym 3 times a week = Je vais à la gym 3 fois par semaine. There is no need to add "and train = je m'entraine" because we know what people do at the gym...
Plus, to train = s'entrainer is linked to competition in French. "L'entrainement" = training is the fact of practicing a sport with a competition aim. Otherwise you just "do/play" your sport.
If you tell people "je vais à la gym 3 fois par semaine pour m'entrainer" they are gonna ask "for what ? = Pourquoi ?" expecting an answer like "the next marathon" ...etc.
Thanks for the excellent reply, Sandra.
From now on I will say the following:
Je vais à la gym 3 fois par semaine.
In the past, I learnt to say 'Je me entraîne 3 fois par semaine'.
(By the way, I have trained 90 minutes today.)

Next week, I am going to France. I always try to speak French in France. I want to visit 'Palais de Versailles'.
I visited it last July. It is worth visiting again. For me, it is the best Royal Palace in the world.
It is not situated in Paris. It took about 90 minutes to reach Versailles from my Paris hotel.
They charged 15 or 20 euros to visit it. On top of this, I had to spent about 3 hours in the queue.
