Pour son amour eut cette essoine.

It's all a bit arbitrary, but this would often be considered "Middle French" (français moyen) rather than Old French strictly speaking. As you can see from this example (Villon was writing in the 1400s), the language has already reached a point where it is similar enough to modern French to be readable by a French speaker with a bit of effort. (Formally, there are some key changes such as the loss of the case system that lead people to distinguish "Middle" and "Old" French.)
