Dear members, I am preparing a book for publishing and I want to use a phrase that would parallel the well-known l´art pour l´art - I want it to refer to literary criticism. Do you think that "La critique pour la critique" is grammatically correct? Although I did have some French when I was a kid (actually it was 5 years since I was 5), my French is, alas, very poor and I would be very thankful for your help.

I was not familiar with l´art pour l´art to mean "art for art's sake" .
I would guess that "La critique pour la critique"should also make sense in that case.
Indeed I can find many examples of the phrase on the internet
https://www.google.ie/search?q=%22La+critique+pour+la+critique%22&a...
and so I would be confident that it does mean what you seem to intend it to and that it is equally as grammatically correct as "l´art pour l´art "
Well I was assuming it was to mean "criticism for the sake of criticism"
