Informal words for teacher
Is there a more informal word for teacher, professeur seems to be the only one I can find, yet I have heard the word le mettre, la metrice, that seemed to be used in a teaching context. Can anyone help?

The usual informal variant would be prof.
The word maître also exists, but if anything it's actually more formal rather than informal.
