How to say "as long as possible"

       "Ils restent au fond aussi longtemps que possble"  -  I think it means ' they stay at the bottom as long as possible".

        Is there another way to say that-  please give example.

You can also say "aussi longtemps qu'ils le peuvent" ,"tant que c'est possible"

"autant" has several ways to be used. Here are some examples :

autant que lui : as much as him

Il n'a jamais autant plu : He's never rained so much

pour autant que je sache : as far as I know

autant dire que ...: In other words...

autant de gens : so many people

autant d'argent : so much money

sans pour autant : without necessarily
