Ans to the ques "Comment est-ce que Caroline paie?"

Can the answer to "Comment est-ce que Caroline paie?" be "Caroline paie avec sa carte bancaire" instead of "Caroline paie par carte bancaire" ? So instead of [par], can we use [avec] to answer? Or is it that [par] must always be used to answer such questions?

In France, we use the two forms   ;)

"Caroline paie par carte bancaire" could hint a kind of routine while "Caroline paie avec sa carte bancaire" could hint an adhoc transaction, an exception.
